Finding the right doctor.....

Post a new topicby maureeng on Thu Mar 27, 2008 11:21 am

I have been suffering for close to a year now and I truly believe I have Lupus I have yet to find a physician that will help with getting a definite diagnosis! I have researched all of my symptoms and this is what I came up with.

Does anyone know how I can explain this to my physician???? And have them take me seriously!?

I'm at my wits end! The frustration and aggrevation alone is insane!

I know the frustration you are going through. It took them 5 years to diagnose me and I suffered and got mad and angry and totally felt like my doctors needed to go back to school. Before I got sick, I never went to the doctor's for anything. The only time I would go was when I had an infection that would not get better with home remedies.
My best advice is to keep going to the same doctor and let them refer you out to others. Possibly a specialty hospital like John Hopkins or an area close by to you that is almost as good as that hospital. If you get a rash like lupus carries at times, a skin biopsy would be one thing that might help in getting a diagnoses. Lupus can have so many symptoms and be hard to diagnose mimicing other diseases. So many things have to be ruled out before they consider lupus. Good luck and I hope you can find a diagnoses soon!
