Diagnosed with Lupus

Post a new topicby aacoic on Fri Feb 20, 2009 11:18 pm

My wife was diagonsed with Lupus based on the results of her blood tests. The following are those results that were not in the normal range.

ANA, IFA test = 1:80
ANA Pattern = Diffuse
DNA, Double Stranded = 194
Antinuclear Antibody = Positive
Segmented Neutrophils = 77
Lymphocytes = 16.0

She has been sensitive to sunlight for as long as we have been married (36 yrs this March). Her Rheumatoligist want to start her on Plaquenil. She does not have any of the other symptoms listed int the American College of Rheumatology criteria for lupus

My question is: do the above tests show conclusively that she has Lupus I advised her to get a second opinion.
